For these artworks, I took from elements of pop and remix culture to make them. My aim with a couple of the artworks below is to depict the ridiculousness of a certain politician, as well as how unfit he is to lead the country again given all the disastrous events that unfolded the last time he was in a position of power. Beyond these politically-based pieces, however, I try to explain more about myself and where I came from in a self-portrait.
Self-Portrait

Sense Of Self, 2024

Adobe Lightroom Classic, Adobe Photoshop

This was a piece I made in my spare time. Using what I've learned so far, I made this self-portrait in glitch art form. This piece takes what I've learned from 2 of my art classes and combines them to display my identity, including the shirt, video game controller, the movie case masking my face, and the glitch effect itself. The Japanese writing and character that appears on the shirt demonstrates the Japanese part of my identity, the video game controller showcases my pursuit of enjoyment and gratification in digital media, the movie case represents the American side of myself and my early childhood, and the glitch effect is meant to depict how I lose sight of who I am at times. However, all I have to do is take a step back, look at where I started, and realize how far I've come so as to regain my sense of self.
Political Pieces

No More: Series, 2024

Adobe Photoshop

I made these photoshopped pieces to try an inform people that Trump isn't the right person to be President, especially given the disasters that took place as a direct result of the last time he was President. These pieces are meant to show the worst parts of Trump during his time as President, so people will see it and hopefully realize that he isn't anywhere near qualified to be in this kind of position of power, ever again.

The Three "Trump"-ly Sins: Series, 2024

Adobe Photoshop

These photoshopped pieces of mine are meant to represent three of the Seven Deadly sins, although most (if not all of them) fit Trump's character very well. The piece on the left is meant to represent his wrath that occurred on January 6th, the middle piece depicts his greed and lust for power, and the one on the right shows his laziness and apathy for the American people during his reign (particularly, his sorely lacking response to the COVID pandemic in 2020).
